Trick or Treat

Oh trick or treat. Fevers, sickies, and yet... we still must go out and get a little candy!! Having Halloween on a Monday is like sticking a machete in your thigh. Ella went by herself because she woke up lethargic and warm, it was pretty peaceful. We hit a haunted house where we went behind a 90 year old couple. I'm glad they didn't have a heart attack. It was pretty amazing and thorough.... they must be hoarders.

The kids went out with the McMillens and had other plans as well. It was a fun night!!

Done and Won

I really need to stop doing these. It just wears me out. 15 miles a day, walking in the dark and cold. Plus no rest days. Blah.

School Halloween Festivities

This year we did the 4 seasons. I was summer, thank you Amazon. School was eventful. My sweet student was having a meltdown over how scary his costume was and wouldn't wear it in the cold. We had a party, went really smooth and overall, I'm grateful for the group I have. 6 year olds are the sweetest.

Parties

The kids have friends and had fun going to different parties/cornfield this year with them. Thank goodness for a good Dad who is willing to stay up late to pick them up.

Cardboard Carnival

I'm not going to lie, this year was minimal effort. And yet it was still super fun!! It just takes a lot of effort and energy. I loved having my Polynesian friends play and give them more candy than was allowed. I loved being able to call parents by name. This is what I love about teaching. The connection.

Girl's Night

Girls night was a good reminder that quote, "You can't muscle the pole." Whatever the hell that means. It was nice to get together with friends and try something new. Unfortunately, if teaching doesn't pan out, I don't think becoming a stripper will work. I wasn't too graceful.

Traditions are so lovely. It's odd how the years pass so quickly and how the memories of having to do all the carving turn to memories of admiring how your children can be so creative and productive with their beings. It was fun to pick out the pumpkins after a movie and head home to spend time together and knife things.
