Nothing says summer like having to come into work for a half day on a Monday. It's bittersweet to leave Kate Smith.
Psalms 145:2 "Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever."

June 4- Field Day and Almost Freedom
13 boys. Kevin. Isaiah. Thomas. Marco. This group was a group. I'm exhausted. But I'm also extremely grateful for helping Marshall manage his melt downs and seeing improvement from all of them. They grew so much and I'm so proud of them.

May 28- 100th Year Kate Smith Anniversary
Kate Smith is 100 years old and I was lucky enough to be able to teach here 7 years. So much has happened in 7 years it seems impossible. It was a very good time to learn how to be a teacher and how much I love 1st grade and how tiring education really is. The system is broken, but I do my part daily to make sure kids are loving life and happy and safe. The celebration was very last minute, but we got it done. It was great to see so many people show up and be together to appreciate the wonderful education they got here. I've loved my students, families, coworkers, bosses.... I've been blessed to be able to call this my home away from home.

April 14- Ready for the End of the Year
Our bus broke down. That was amazing. It sat there the entire time and when we got on the bus it wouldn't start. So fortunately none of the kids ran into the street while we waited, but thank goodness parents were there. I loved Kristen. She was such a wonderful teaching partner. I'm going to miss her a lot next year.

Feb. 3- 100th Day of School
I sure do love my teaching partner and wish we could be together forever. Kristen is amazing, low stress, high functioning, and just so positive. I'm so lucky to have her this year. This class is a lot of boys and personalities that need patience. Glad to be almost done but sad that I'll probably never have such low numbers again. 15 total students.
