March 24- Wildlife Texas Drive Through Zoo

Jay and Rachel are serious business when it comes to having a FUN TIME!!! We had such a blast feeding the animals!!! I fed an ostrich from my hand!!! I had to close my eyes to do so. The animals were beautiful and it was great to go in the aviary and see Josh become the bird man!! They LOVED him!!!

Taking the Metro and Bus to the Athens Zoo

Day 1 of our trip, as in our first full day in Greece, was HOT. There is barely any air conditioning in Greece, and it's not central air. So you get these small breaks, but overall you are just really hot and have to deal with it. The Metro is super efficient and it was our kid's first time using it. They were fantastic and quite natural!!! We ended up taking the bus a few stops to far from the zoo, so it ended up being a little long. However, it was so nice to be able to see the sights. Athens is a lot like California, just hotter and more humid. AND WAY MORE GRAFFITTI!!!!!

The teenagers on the bus are obnoxious. Lots of making out and goofing around. But overall, it was $9 for 5 days, per person, to be able to travel. You can't beat that. Plus, you don't have to deal with cab drivers. Ha!

The Zoo was homely and sad. It was the one place Ella really wanted to go. It was super hot and we were tired and hungry. It really wasn't great. We all took one for Ella. You're welcome Ella. It smelled and the animals looked diseased.

However!! It was kind of cool because it was a super laid back zoo so you could walk among the bats, we did it!!! No rabies that we know of yet. And we could walk around with the lemurs.

Christina got a good scare in at the meerkat exhibit. I thought one was going to kill me and she came up from behind and I'm pretty sure I screamed. Or had a heart attack. Or both. Supposedly they are putting in a dolphin exhibit, but we are saying our prayers that it doesn't happen. We saw the size of the future pool and it looked just cruel.
