My beautiful Belle.....

Alicia was kind enough to offer this great princess photo shoot opportunity. This lady's backyard was peaceful and beyond lovely! The girls really enjoyed themselves!! Of course, I'm not a professional and look forward to seeing what shots Alicia got... But in the meantime, I loved these ones!!

Sweet Briar Rose

Vacation!! Gotta head to Lake Tahoe!!

Lake Tahoe is coooooooooooooooooooooooooooold!!! But it never stops these weirdos, myself included, from jumping in. Today was extra hot and perfect!!

The man next to us complimented the kiddos. He couldn't believe that Eli didn't cry once. We were there from 11-3:30. Everyone dug in the sand, enjoyed snacks and each other.
The scenery was amazing. It was blissful.
God has blessed us so much.

I loved coming out of the water, or Joe, and Eli would lie down and cuddle on the blanket right next to us!! My sweetie pie!!

Joe turns 37 --- Jerry the Toucan is Dead

Joe reflects on being 37 and comes to the conclusion that he is decrepit and should immediately start researching oxygen companies.

I think it's important to know that Joe has some pent up aggression problems against sprinklers.

And with that, we head into the fabulous day that was Hime's birthday. The weather was pretty chilly for summer!! So we headed out for a hike/walk over by Idlewild park. I had no clue how gorgeous it was over there! The Rose Gardens were even amazing!!

Everything was so green and colorful and magical. It was like we weren't even in the desert anymore!!

Always wanting to hold our hands!!

It was probably only about 2 1/2 miles but it was perfect!!

Who knew the Truckee could be so pretty!!

Muscle TREE!!!!!! Encouraging all walkers, runner and drug addicts along the path to be strong!!!

Eli's car was the absolute best $40 EVER. He loves that little thang!!

It even rained on us. The drizzle felt like misters.

At the end of the walk, we headed to the park.

This squirrel was super freaky. Just say no to rats.

After we went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch and Joe got all you can eat sushi. Fortunately no one got food poisoning. We were over by Ace Hardware and I wanted to take Eli to see Jerry the Toucan.
Unfortunately, it was not good news.
Jerry is dead.

Jerry the toucan, a former exotic pet of Ace Hardware store was recently transferred to the Sierra Safari "Zoo", please insert air quotes on "Zoo". In case anyone was looking forward to seeing Jerry, be forewarned that he has passed away. He had digestion problems and a $1,000 vet bill according to a paint specialist (at Ace). He tried eating his tail feathers and that's when they gave him to the "zoo". However, he wasn't there long. Perhaps the horrors of his new habitation were just too much. Perhaps he was just needed in heaven. Either way, a random man with a dog, that wasn't a service dog and technically shouldn't have been in Ace with him, but was... said that he thought toucans lived upwards of 40 years. He was wrong, according to google. Just so you know, Jerry lived a good 8 years. But he's gone. So the whole point of this is, if you or your fair children are expecting to see Jerry, he isn't there... Alas.

My cake this year was a little "oozy". In fact, it oozed all over the oven and made a lovely burnt fire smell. The smoke was a tender reminder that I really have not come far in the world of cooking. Thank you 12 years.

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful man EVER!!!! We love our daddy. Joe got a swimsuit and a weird piece of plastic that he thought was an MP3 player or security tag. Fun times!!!!
