Veteran's Day
The drive home happened to be on Veteran's Day, which I was a little sad about. Last year I had a profound experience at a parade that really has added a whole new dimension of happiness to my life. I thank Veterans. I love to thank the men and women who serve so freely. I thank all people who are serving now and sacrificing more than I could ever imagine. I just wish I had the power to end war. Alas. Good thing God has that power!

We stopped at the Korean War Memorial near Bakersfield, CA. It was breathtaking and beautiful. I wish my son could have been buried in such sacred ground. My son is a valiant hero too. However, the world shall not know his greatness until the hereafter. But I know it.
I am so privileged to live a safe and comfortable life. I can worship freely. All because of the good men and women who are our armed forces. Thank you!!
Dizzyland Vacation: Day 4
Our last day in Disneyland included fun, more fun and even more fun and:
Maria's 1st super big roller coaster, the Matterhorn. Ummm... a bit fast. Don't think she enjoyed it much. Christina did though.
Space Mountain however was too scary for Christina. I agree. It's very fast and super dark. At least we didn't have to wait in line.

I have never had a Monte Cristo Sandwich before. Oh my. What have I been doing with my life! You dip this in berry sauce and then enter heaven.

All time greatest shop. Maria asleep hanging onto her ice cream though.
*As a side note, Christina... this stroller has the swivel front wheel. Deluxe. The Cadillac of strollers. It's like I'm not even pushing them, it's so light, I don't know how that works! The front wheel can lock and become a jogger... but let's be realistic. I don't run unless I'm being chased. It did squeak a little, but some WD40 and we were good to go. This stroller was a great investment.*

Dizzyland Vacation: Day 3 (Picture Overload Warning)
Monday Nov. 9 and Tuesday Nov. 10 are the absolute best days to go to Disneyland in the whole year. The longest wait in line was to see the princesses for 20 minutes. We walked up to Space Mountain and rode Winnie the Pooh at least 7 times. Splash Mountain we rode 3 times. It was seriously awesome. The weather was gorgeous... sigh.
As for highlights, we got stuck in the burning scene of pirates of the Caribbean for 15 minutes. After 2 minutes Maria told me, "Mommy I have to go poo poo." Ummm... fortunately they got us up and running, but I was a little worried. Mom was getting claustrophobic. It just was not fun being stuck in the dark listening to Yo Ho over and over and over....
The Haunted Mansion has lost all it's fun to me. It's a mockery of death and death is to be respected. I'll never go on it again. The part where you are in the ride and look in the mirror and some "spooky" thing covers your face made me want to throw a rock in the mirror... it was a coffin with a question mark covering Maria's face. I hope the Haunted Mansion burns down and is never rebuilt.
I was also a little perturbed at how "scary" some of the rides are. Unfortunately Small World was shut down. I just think if Disneyland is so happy... can't they pep up the rides a little? But overall, still very very fun!!
