Randomly, on the radio they had a contest for base camp tickets. I was so thrilled, I thought... why not!! I called and was caller #3.
One more try!!
I WAS CALLER #10!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've never won anything off the radio, but I was BEYOND thrilled.
Base camp is the tallest rock wall in the nation and I've always dreamed about climbing it since about a year ago. I couldn't believe my luck. I felt like it was nothing short but a gift from Heavenly Father.
I went with the kids, who were also THRILLED!!! to go get the tickets. 2 FREE TICKETS!!!
As I looked at the tickets, I noticed Base Camp was spelled Bass Camp. Same place, different spelling. And it was a 6th anniversary party.
Hmmmm.....
Yeah. It ended up being a techno party. I was disappointed, but not for long.
Jody truly is the best person in the world. We have struggled so very much in the past few years, but I feel like if we can just survive his PhD, things will work out.
It was such a blast. Jody needed to eat so we went to the Brew Brothers where of course, he knew the waiter. The guy and him played basketball and were reminiscing over the old days.
We got some yogurt beach and Jody told me stories from yonder years that involved showers and guns. Highly entertaining.
We headed to the party around 9 where we were asked for ID. We looked at the guy and he was like, yeah... nevermind.
It was pretty lame at first, but as soon as the 2nd DJ hit the stage... IT! WAS! A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ramya and Steve met us there for a little double date action. It was so hot inside. Man! But we danced the night away to good music and even got offered water by a good samaritan that probably wanted to drug and kill us in the bathroom. He looked like Kylo Ren.
It was a much needed break from the day to day usual activity. Yes, we are way to old for this type of stuff. But still.... it was fun!!!
Also, our knees and backs hurt the morning after because we are decrepit.
Also, Also.... we pooped out at 12. Which I love.
