Maria turns 6!!!! Percy Jackson Party!!!!!!

Well, our angel is growing up. Hard to believe she is 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maria wasn't even hesitant on what type of party she wanted... Percy Jackson all the way!!
Thank you PowerPoint and pinterest.

Sisters wearing their Camp Half Blood shirts.

We started by building statues at Aunty M's Garden Emporium.

Next was a left/right game. We used Golden Drachmas to pass around. This was the story I made up:

If you want to be a demigod RIGHT away, you’re crazy! At every turn LEFT and RIGHT there is danger and monsters to face. They were often LEFT by their immortal parents to live life LEFT alone. Sons and daughters of Greek gods and goddesses, demigods are stronger than humans, RIGHT away you can tell how quick and sharp they are. However, being mortal LEFT them able to die easily… often by the hand of monsters that surrounded them to the LEFT, LEFT, LEFT and RIGHT. Percy Jackson is one such demigod. Percy is a hero, RIGHT on!! He never fit in at school. He was always LEFT behind and didn’t make friends easily. He had one friend named Grover. Grover never LEFT Percy’s side and was a true friend. One day, they LEFT school and went to a field trip to the museum. While at the museum their English teacher asked Percy to head to the LEFT to a different room. Once there, the English teacher LEFT!!! Where did she go? Percy glanced up and Mrs.Dodd’s had turned into a shriveled hag with bat wings and yellow fangs! RIGHT away Percy was shocked! Had everyone LEFT the museum? What was going on? Another teacher, Mr.Brunner was there too. He could not use his LEFT foot or his RIGHT foot. He was in a wheelchair. He tossed Percy a ballpoint pen. How would a pen help him with a crazy monster to his LEFT? RIGHT? And yet suddenly the pen turned into a sword RIGHT away! It was awesome!!! He was able to fight off the evil monster and she LEFT in a puff of smoke as he slashed through her. Many an adventure is found LEFT and RIGHT in the pages of Percy Jackson. From bullies getting what they RIGHTLY deserve in bathrooms to quests RIGHT here in Nevada, you should read this book RIGHT away. Don’t be LEFT out. Find out about what Zeus LEFT on Mt. Olympus and was stolen RIGHT under his nose. Find out if Percy escapes the underworld and who must be LEFT behind there. Annabeth and Percy share a story of friendship, though they didn’t start as friends RIGHT away. They even rescue a Zebra LEFT on a truck to die. Nothing is what it seems in this magical set of books!  And beware RIGHT at the end is a surprise you’ll never see coming!! It will hook you RIGHT into the next book!! Read it RIGHT away!!

Up to bat next PERCY JACKSON JINGO!!!

Medusa Red Light/Green light. When sunglasses were off they had to freeze!!

Minotaur Munch: Eat a minotaur/bugle off your shoulder not using hands.

And lastly, capture the flag!! Lils got it twice!!!!

Blue food was so much fun!!! We had Port-o-Subs too, Maria's favorite. I was semi-tempted to see if they could make blue bread.

Man, I tried doing ruffles.... was NOT working. Glad the flowers turned out!

Pinata!!!!!!!!!!!

We had the best people over!!! We love our family and friends!!!

Thanks Ram & Jackie for the gorgeous pics!! It felt like Christmas looking at all of them!!!

My gorgeous green eyed baby.

Dougie cracks me up. This kid is way too cute. When he is excited, he is excited!!

BFF!!!!! Or is this just a really old picture of Ramya and me?

Other Best Friends!!!

Maria had a great time and we enjoyed some great company.

We handed out these to the kids at the end... bless you dollar store. Because every hero needs their weapon!! It was fun to see the archery after party.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Valentine's was nice and simple this year. I usually do valentines in the kids lunches the week before and this year decided to have a heart pizza. Upon looking at it though, it doesn't really look like a heart. Ah well, you can't beat paper plates!!

The girls made us oodles of notes. They were precious and I loved seeing them work so hard on them. Eli loved all the candy his sisters gave him. It was nice.

My sweetie pie....

I love absolutely everything about this sweet babe. He is my love bug.
I love playing with him. I love hearing him say all his new words.
I love watching him and seeing his joy. He is such a blessing.
The weather has been good lately so we've spent some time outside and he's happy as a lark.
He'll help everyone get on their shoes, bring coats and is joyfully screaming once we step out the door.

Mardi Gras 2nd Saturday With Yaya Sofia!!!

Our Yaya is so kind. We were excited to go to the museum with her. It was her first time there!!

My kids just adore her. She is really the most wonderful grandmother anyone could ever ask for.

Maria had gone to a fun birthday party for Doug earlier on in the day. She loved doing the chicken dance and throughout the day she would just start cracking up even thinking about it!

Why are you putting me in the pink jacket Yaya!!!!!!
These 2 were laughing really loud together. It's contagious.

Glitter away my children, glitter away!!!

Let's torture Yaya!!!! No really. It was great to see my 80ish Yaya walking around all the modern art. The best was this exhibit that you look into a screen in the ground and it is a person's mouth with no teeth just open like it's screaming. It was right next to this installation "What would Neil Young do?"

Indeed. What would Neil Young do?

New Park!!

We've been watching them redo this park for about 2 months now and were very excited today when we saw it was done!! It's great... but I really wish they would do away with the wood chips!!

These little buddies play so well together. Maria really does an exceptional job with her brother. She's always watching him, helping him and making him laugh.

Whenever he is by Maria he'll reach for her hand and call "Sissy!".

Free Pancakes... With a $0.50 tip

We had a little time in the morning the other day and headed down to IHOP for their free pancake day. It was fabulous. We were seated and within 3 minutes had yummy pancakes. I totally thought I had a couple dollars in my purse, but of course only had $.50. Yeah for being a tipper like my grandfather.

Eli loved his pancakes! He ate half the plate! It's so funny too because he really prefers to use utensils. Not fake plastic ones either. I've been a little worried about him poking his eye out with a fork, but he really does a great job. And it's nice when he is done eating he says, "Done."

A new favorite phrase he's saying now is "My bum" and then he'll pat his butt.

Another 4WD Outing....

You know, my dad made an excellent point at dinner tonight. Just because you have 4WD doesn't mean you have an off road vehicle.

Eli sported his new $1 hat from Ross.

Little did I know it would be so muddy. I wore flip flops, so I stayed in the car.

The kiddos hiked a bit. At one point Maria was a little scared of how bumpy it was. Christina said, quote, "You mean you don't mind skipping and running down a steep cliff, but the bumps scare you?"
It's so true. Maria was running everywhere.

Don't ask me where we were. I have no clue. Somewhere in the east.

Good action shot of Maria.

What? Mommy is banning us from doing this again. Yes. Yes I am.

We now have a large stick to paint from the outing.

It was a beautiful sunset. It was one of those that just lights the sky on fire.

Earlier in the morning I had gone to the temple. It was a great session. I sat next to Shirley Pasco and the Abbotts took me through to the Celestial Room. I had a funny realization when they first start the session you are asked to be alert, attentive and reverent please.... which would be AARP!!!

Time OUT!

I rarely use time outs for the girls anymore, however, this morning I needed some quiet time to get lunches and morning dishes done. Christina was in time out looking at the wall and Eli climbed right in her lap, said "NINA!!!!!!!!" and was happy as a lark looking at the wall too. Had to get a picture to remember!
