Maria turns 12- 80's so RAD!!!!

My sweet little girl. Time flies when you are having fun, and how can life be anything other than that with you my sweetheart.

The joy, the pride, the love, the happiness, the laughter.... you fill me to the brim. I don't deserve to be the mother of such a divine human being.

My sassy little girl. Sassy as in all that and a bag of chips. I'm amazed by you. I'm blown away at the good, funny, and righteous soul you are.

What cool 12 year old would choose an 80's party. YOU MARIA!!!! YOU!!!!!

I hope you had as much fun as what you spread each day. FUN is your middle name!!!!

I know the Bon Jovi pic was your favorite!!! hahaha

As you get older, the parties get easier. I just set out the stuff, and voila. Party people make it happen.
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ALL STAYED UP UNTIL 4AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved that you rolled in the snow at 10PM.
I love that you watched Disney short films.
I love that you freezed cheez-whiz to see what would happen.
I love that you all made radical 80's shirts and fanny packs.
I love that you ate alllllllllllllllllllllllllll that candy and sugar.
I love that I got to see you smile. Your smile is worth a million sunsets. Your happiness is my happiness. I'm connected to you forever my sweet baby. Never forget. Nothing will separate us.

My mom was all 80's. I think the floral print of the 80's never left her system. I loved wearing her glasses. She was there with us I know.

As long as I live, I want my sweet boy to know he can wear pink. He can wear girl gloves and bracelets. I hope he always knows how special he is. And to be happy!!! Life is too short!! Now to take my own advice!!

I wish I was enough for him. But I know I never will be.

Ahhhh... The after party.

Such a glorious time. To celebrate a glorious young lady.
LOVE YOU MARIGIKI!!!!!!!!!!!!

Say It Loud

Jody does so much. Everyone loves him.

It was a really nice event. Great poetry. Great thoughts.
Free expression.

Total blizzard outside.

Blacktivism - UNR Event

We had run ragged all day, but we wanted to support our daddy at one of his Black History events. The kids enjoyed making posters and being with Joe at work.

Dr. King ended up looking like Hitler with a skin disease. Still super awesome!! The girls rocked their art.

Hooray for Black History Month. I also have to add we watched the Kevin Hart special for it and it was so educational and funny!!!

Ella turns 5 years old!!!!!!

We woke up and Ella requested quote, "Unicorn tat sleeves."
Heaven help me.

Uncle Corey & Uncle Bill were so thoughtful and ordered Ella an ice cream cake!!! The first one the kiddos ever had!!! (Mom fail??) It lasted 2 days. YUM!!

We had lunch at Fuddruckers.
Every. Single. Time.
Without fail, I can stare at the room in the back where I struggled to feed my little baby Joe. I had a bottle to help him eat and remember the self loathing I had for myself because I couldn't get him to breastfeed. The sorrow I feel every time I go is real, yet somehow I'm still able to know the present and live in the joy my other 4 kids bring so readily.

Birthday milkshake fun!! And free cookies!!
Then on to free fudge!! And ferris wheel rides!!!
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN!!!
Good thing we have the best big sisters in the world!!!

Eli has issues after Papa rocked the ferris wheel once and he feels like he's going to fall off. It's definitely not a height fear, because this little boy can CLIMB!

We ended the day with more sugar. Best dinner ever.

Ella at 5 loves unicorns, dancing, singing, and anything pink.
She loves her bobo, playing barbies, and legos.
She loves movies and popcorn.
Her best friend is Ramya. (And Janie)
She loves to listen to books and is an excellent artist!!
She is a fast runner, great swimmer, and loves to shake it when music comes on.
She loves that stupid show Miraculous Ladybug. (I swear it kills brain cells)
She loves being my bed buddy, snuggle buddy, and cuddle cake.
Her favorite song is Alicia Key's This girl is on fire.
Yaya would have been proud.
She is proud.
As we all are of this beautiful, kind, sensitive, loving little sweetheart.

Her birthday wish this year, "That Jesus, and Yaya Kota, and Baby Joe could all live again."
