July 18- Hospital Time
I could tell it was time to take Ella to a doctor. She couldn't catch a break from her cough, she stopped eating (scary) and I could tell she was getting dehydrated. She even started vomiting. I felt bad leaving our family reunion early, but everyone understood and were so supportive. They called her daily, left messages, sent care packages and cards. We are so blessed to have the family we do.
I couldn't get a hold of our insurance to preapprove an urgent care visit in Santa Rosa so we drove 4 hours straight home to the doctors who then told me her oxygen levels were at 85 which was really low and bad for her entire organ system and heart. I rushed her to the ER and they got her right in. They started her on an IV right away and her little body was just so tired.
She ended up with a viral pneumonia and was in the hospital 4 days. It was extremely stressful and I died a little bit in my heart seeing her suffer and cry and ask why this was happening to her. I called our Bishop and she was able to get a blessing saying "Heavenly Father will only let you suffer what you need to."
She is doing so much better now, able to eat and drink and play, however she still has the cough and arm pain above her IV site. Daily prayers for her recovery. I also have to mention the day I fasted she was released. I believe in the power of fasting and that when our wills are aligned with God's purposes and plan, that miracles can happen.
Jody was so supportive and brought food daily. I truly believe the good food from Whole Foods and Pho was instrumental in her recovery.
July 16- Golden Gate Bridge and Cousin Time
Erin and Aunt Sheila were amazing to watch everyone and take them on adventures so we could do the Dipsea. They had a great time at the bridge, military barracks, Papa's favorite ice cream shop when he was a little boy and Nana's old house on Washington Street in San Rafael.
