This year I wasn't as "excited" for the 4th of July. In fact, when we sang the national anthem in church, I was tempted not to stand.
I love our country. I really do.
I just don't like the president elect and can't fathom that I share a country with so many stupid people who would vote for such a bigoted liar.
Not only that, but I just read a book about a Native American youth. It was fiction, but it really hurt my heart. All that was taken from them. Stolen.
And not only them, but so many others.
And the fact that so much is still not right to this day.
How do I come to terms with it all, I don't know.
I love the US. I love the freedoms and am so grateful for the peace in which I live. However, it's a lot to process.
We were supposed to spend the night at Yaya Sofia's but she ended up having an "incident" at Macy's and was exhausted. So we went over a couple days later.
It was the kids and Papa!! We of course spent a good 30 minutes trying to find the perfect spot. The tower would have been it, but the IMAX was in the way.
We headed to the prater way church, but every other LDS person and their grandpa was doing that. So we settled on Dilworth's lawn and enjoyed the 2nd hand weed smoke and glow in the dark fun.
God bless 'Murica. Please. We need it.
