50% Capacity

Sand Harbor has tons of parking... and yet we cant go because of social distancing. Fortunately Zephyr Cove is just as beautiful.

The older girls were at sleepovers, so it was just the littles. A very peaceful and happy afternoon.
We are blessed.

Final stops: Gabbs, Middlegate, A sunset playa, and Fallon Vampires

Gabbs: Nothing there

Middlegate: Nothing there. Although there is some earthquake fault time I'd like to check out. We were wondering why we were there 1 day right after a 6.9 earthquake.

Nowhere Nevada: Nothing there.

'

Random Playa: Peace, solitude, and a beautiful view!!! Lots of rocks to make our names in the cracked and caked white sand.

We were all a little hungry for food other than "snacks". Nina the vegan didn't eat. It was our first sit down restaurant experience since the start of COVID-19. We got to hear all about vampires and real life people who drink blood. It was horrific. Maria and Ella slept in my bed because of it.

Such a great trip though!!!

Drive On Nina

Getting in a little practice gong faster! She got up to 55!! The roads were completely empty and she took us down a good 10 miles down a very curvy mountain side. She had great control and took it slow. Very proud of her!!

Berlin Ichthyosaur NV State Park

We made it! It took all day, but it was worth it!!

What an interesting and amazing place.

Fortunately there were open bathrooms that were very clean. As I was in the bathroom Jody was accosted by the park ranger who lives on site. She mellowed out once she saw our park pass but still wouldn't open the fossil barn for us... because we reeked of COVID-19 germs.

We were still able to see in really well. It was fascinating. I thought our state fossil was a larger dinosaur, but it wasn't. It was the size of killer whale or shark.

There were lots of trails, but unfortunately Jody could barely walk. The weather was perfect even though there was a little wind.

Berlin used to be a mill and mining site. All the old buildings were interesting. It's amazing how in the middle of nowhere was a thriving town. That's no longer the case.

The littles wondered if it was really that dangerous in there. They were also the only ones brave enough to travel up the steep hill to see what was on top. The views were expansive and commanding.

It was really a great trip. I'd love to go back and go camping there!!
