I'm sad my mom is gone. She was the most wonderful person in my life and made my life so happy. I owe her everything. On her birthday I ran, and I ran well! I got 4th for my age group. My pace was 8:47 and I got under 2 hours so I was ecstatic!! I met a Kenyan from the race who invited me to their running group. He passed me pretty effortlessly on the last mile. I finished strong though and felt really good. It was a hot run with temps ending in the high 60's. I was so grateful for Jody and the kids support. Jody was wonderful and drove me to the start of the race and to pick up my bib I had forgot! He's the best.
