New Friends

This year I've made a lot of new friends that I am so very grateful for. They brighten my life immensely.

Jaz is one of them. Eli and her son are great friends at school. He is differently abled.

I'm glad we've spent time together. Jaz is an amazing cook and I've already gotten to sample her Indian Chai Tea and Curry.
Beyond YUM!!!!!

She is so full of positivity even after all she has been through. I'm glad to have her in my life.

We had a nice night together!!

Just to keep track

In addition to my morning hour cardio and weights.

Monday- 6 miles
Tuesday- 4 miles
Wednesday- 4 miles
Thursday- 1 9 min mile
Friday- Rest day

The only bad thing about running is that I haven't been rock climbing in a while!! Times and seasons I guess.

Yup Yup.

This was absolutely perfect!! Just what my body needed after the run. It's so weird, because I honestly felt like I could run at least another 5 miles. But then I stopped and I was like, wow.
My legs are a bit sore.

Maria wanted to go to the gym so we did 50 minutes cardio after my run. I was hoping I could get some lactic acid out and it worked splendidly.

60 degrees!!!!

Poor Eli didn't get Yogurt Beach because he had been rough with Ella earlier. Hope he learned his lesson.
Homie don't play that game.

It has been the most calm and peaceful week. Heaven!!!

Yup.

14 Miles + 10 Miles on Saturday Goal

I did it! I signed up for a half marathon!!!

Tumeric.
Who would have known?

My knees aren't hurting. I have 2 months to get my stamina up. The most I've done is 10 miles at a time.

I'm excited!!

Free Pancake Day

Our most exciting start to free pancake day yet!
Maria and Nina have officially reached the tired teen phase. They were too tired to wake up and go!

Ha!! We brought back some leftovers though.

In. Out. And merrily on our way.

It's the small things in life that bring such happiness!!

Fun Saturday Time

It's so close to ending game time for Joe's PhD.
I wonder about all the time lost and what it means.
I wonder how to move on. How to adjust.
I wonder about life, about hurt, about forgiveness, about happiness.
And then when I can't figure it out, when I just feel like crying, I run. And it feels better.
Because exhaustion means sleep and then I don't have to deal with it.
And I am so very tired of crying.
So run. Run.
5,000 steps at 5 AM
5 miles at 5 PM

Papa is always so kind. He treated us to a movie and lunch. I loved seeing little Ella's fist pumped,
"Captain Marvel will save the day!!"
It's nice to see women empowered.
Because at the end of the day, I don't believe I am.
I am a slave to a stereotype.
Mormon Housewife and Stay at Home Mom.
In my home I sacrifice everything for the good of my family.
It's only in the past 2 years that I've actually discovered things about myself that bring me joy other than my kids.
I don't have atomic blasting hands. I can't fly. And my hair certainly doesn't flow as I fight the bad guys.
But maybe, just maybe, I can be a heroine to my kids. I hope so. Because they are my heros.

I gained 4 lbs this weekend from all the crap I ate.

Eli being creative and turning a coloring kitten into a flurkin!! (From the movie and quite hilarious)

Papa and Manny also too the kiddos with Josh to Coconut Bowl. They had a wonderful time and didn't stop talking about it!!

I went on a really great date with Jody to Mexican food and the last UNR home basketball game. The Phillips are his good friends and they treated us royally!!
It was quite the honor because Jody is so extremely busy. His time is his most precious commodity and to spare some means a great deal seeing as he has so much to do. Crunch time!! But I know it was for the Phillips and that their friendship is an importance in his life. His fraternity has been a backbone of support for him, which I am very grateful for.

So! Saturday! It was a good day. Thank you Jesus.

1st High School Swim Meet - Count your laps

Oh sweet Niners.
She blasted... BLASTED... the others out of the water on her 200 free.
However, after 150 meters she stopped.
She miscounted. When the other girl flip turned, that's when Christina realized she still had another 2 laps.

She did a great job. They are super chaotic.
Spanish Springs beat Wooster. That's all I know. And Christina was 1 second off a state time in the 100 free.

Go baby go!!!!!

Drag Show Time!

I had randomly mentioned Ryan was having a drag show and I would love to go down. Jody then surprised me by taking time off so I could go.

It was a great time and the kids were so happy to spend time with him. He really pulled through and spoiled them rotten. From go carts to HUGE ice cream sundaes to shopping sprees... the kids were so very happy to spend time with their daddy.
Thanks Joe.

Ramya is the greatest person to have ever lived.
It's like magic with her. Pure magic.
I haven't laughed that much in such a long time.
12 hours in the car total went by like nothing because we chatted the entire way.

We have so much in common it's ridiculous. If I didn't have her I don't think I could survive this life.

FML!!!!!!!!!! hahaha

ARCH!!!!!!!!!! (edited)

Our first adventure was me not watching the gas light and hitting the empty light in the boonies. We stopped at a truck station but didn't find much other than an Indian truck driver who wasn't helpful.

God loves us. We made it to Carlin. Where we stopped at a bar after the gas and got free popcorn.

We had low expectations for Elko and that proved to be just right! We lucked out and hit a perfect Elko karaoke bar and did our first song together- Montell Jordan Let's Get it On (super low, super bad!!!!!!!!!!) hahaha But seriously, everyone was horrible and it's Elko, sooooooo.....

Tiger was a small Asian man who wore Ramya's yellow coat and wanted to be her friend. It was a great group of people we were hanging out with. Friendly but no pressure. Just cool.

We had a great complimentary breakfast at our hotel and posed for pics with our backs arched.

Who knew. In Elko I may have discovered I like some.... SOME... country music.
Woah.
Life changing to admit that!!!!!!

The drive to SLC was super quick. We stopped at a dollar store and came up with a quick poem to leave on Ryan's doorstep. It involved killing his beloved doves.
When we left it on his doorstep he thought someone was stalking him and was super scared.
It was PRICELESS.
When we came back, he shouted at us how much he hated us and ended his phone call with the police.

His Mardi Gras show was just spectacular, just like him. He put so much work into it and it was truly just showing that drag is artistry and creativity! Truly cool queens, but none as talented or as beautiful as Ryanna.

Ram booked this really great Air B&B for us. So comfy and nice. We had a lovely breakfast, seriously so tasty!!! We ran errands for Ryan and it snowed like crazy.

We ended the night going out to another drag show. It wasn't family friendly like Ryanna's, but still very fun. Man.... some of those queens can move!!!

Also, I can't forget Ryan treated us to a personal cardio dance session!!! So much fun!! I hope I never forget that dance!!!

I tried on clothes at Wal-Mart and I swear some lady wanted to convert me. Utah, land of friendly Mormons and swarming with blonde blue eyed children.

It really was such a phenomenal trip. One for the records.
