So this little angel is all better. Ears and tonsils completely healed, thanks Heavenly Father!! She received her last round of immunizations until she's 12. She was a total trooper. Cried for 2 seconds and then was completely distracted by the prize box, to which she chose bubbles for surviving her shots.
She's in the 75% for height (41") and 50% for weight (36 lbs).... which means no booster seat till we chunk up a bit.
Her vision was 20/20 and the doctor said her vocabulary and speech was excellent. She's a jewel, what can I say. So glad she is healthy!!

Junkers
Christina has recently learned to use the low setting hot glue gun. Hence this large pile of junk to the side of my kitchen. She wants to save everything possible to build something. I can't wait for her finished project.
Another Thrift Store Find....
69 cents for this awesome girly girl book... the illustrator is the one for Fancy Nancy. And....
A Claymation EASTER!!!!!! (99 cents, but in all actuality- priceless)
I must say, this one is quite fantastic. Christina described it as quote "psychotic". It really is just off the charts. And supposedly it's an Emmy winner. I love the different medium and music.
Just so you know, the real Easter bunny is in a shark, the shark then spews them out because of this sad song and Easter is saved. Just my speed.

Birthday Jell-O
Maria got to finally celebrate her birthday at school, but they don't like cupcakes. So I decided on this healthier alternative. It was suprisingly easy and tasty!! Will definitely remake for St. Patty's.
Rainbow Jell-O.
Did I ever mention how much I love thrift store bargain books?
This wonderful book has no words. It has a CD with music that you look at the book with. Such a wonderful introduction to Korean music. We got out umbrellas and danced. It really was just a lovely find for 70 cents!!!
It's a New York Times art award book. Not the best for a class situation, but totally awesome for home.

Ready for Spring....
We have all our seeds... but it's not quite time. We've got plans for giant pumpkins and a rasberry bush too! We thought we could start out with some indoor herbs, so we're excited to see what happens. Oh the joy of gardening!!!! I can't wait for the sunshine!!

Free Pancake Day
I was pleasantly surprised that this splendid event at IHOP was in all actuality, FREE. Perhaps I should have left a tip or given to the children's miracle network.... I just think if it says FREE, then it should be FREE.
I was grateful the waitress didn't hassle me or make me feel bad for not donating. It really was quite a nice treat. Hooray for businesses that are willing to do something fantastic.
Random Writing Samples
So randomly for Valentine's I got this.... a picture of a celery and a story. I mean, who can think to even use a celery as a main character? Very creative. (And no, we don't watch Veggie Tales) And mind you, these weren't writings we did together. She knows where the paper is and whenever she feels like writing she is more than welcome to. So these were done completely on her own in her free time.
Giant Celery. Once there was a giant celery. Well, there was a giant. He didn't love the celery so one summer day the celery kicked him and the celery said, "Love One Another and eat me". So he ate the celery.
This is a Reader's Theatre. I mean, what first grader knows how to properly use colons?
The characters are Princess, Tower, Narrator, Unicorn and Prince.
Princess says: hhhhhha......I'm tired.
Narrator: And the princess goes to sleep.
Tower: The princess is asleep cried the tower!
(Must be speaking in 3rd person)
Unicorn: I will get the strawberries for the princess.
Prince: Let down your hair princess.
Overall, the play they produced was fantastic. Christina ended up playing all parts except for the Princess, so it was very entertaining.
I'm so blessed to have such talented children! I look forward to great writing possibilities with Christina.

Today.... Today I took back my TRUNK
Let me preface that my trunk was in no way horrible, but it did have pine tree needles and random crayons and socks here and there. I don't know why, but I feel like in the media lately, it's all about people ending up in ditches in their cars for 5 days surviving on jelly beans. I'd rather be comfortable. I'm going to be practicing with the girls for the next 2 weeks on how to open the trunk if Mommy was hurt to get supplies. So far, Christina was able to get it with no problem.
Why did I pack pencils? Because I honestly cannot see myself in a car for more than 48 hours without writing down some sort of thoughts. When I find a pack of pens, I'll switch them out. First aid supplies are included in here, but I do need to add flashlights and batteries. I also have matches and firestarter wood supplies.
All the items in my trunk are non perishable and won't rot or spoil depending on temperature. Say we're to go on a longer trip, this basket is right in the garage for us to grab and go. I figure I'll have to rotate in about a year. I was at Smith's and did the 10 item sale so everything was super affordable. I think I got 4 1-gallon waters, 3 canned fruit, 4 canned soup for about $10 total.
Now my plans are just to add a small suitcase of clothes and blanket.
But it feels good. I feel survivor-ish, like I should lick a raw fish or something.
