We as Americans owe the Chinese so much. It's such a rich culture and I feel bad that I haven't taught my children more about them. We went to the museum for free art Saturday and did a few projects at home.
The girls really enjoyed the decorations. There is a Chinese legend that says a monster was eating flocks and food. Every year at new year, they would put food out and if it was eaten, they knew the monster would not bother them. Then one day, a small child wearing red scared away the monster. They now knew it was afraid of red and the power of the color. Eventually, they destroyed the monster.
Loving the eyeball.
Maria tried a new technique of color blending with colored pencils! She loved it!
Um seriously, my daughters are so talented. These are my favorite art projects EVER!!!
I was also super impressed with their horses!!
I think the zodiac is fun. I'm not a believer, but if I'm flipping through a magazine and there is a horoscope, I'll read it.... again, for fun.
