That smells crabby.....

I've been known to say crappy a few times... not the finest vocabulary to use. Fortunately, our sense of hearing isn't too hot.

Referring to a sock-
Christina: Man, this smells really crabby.
Maria: I know, it's like lobster.

Also, we found out Christina is having trouble seeing at school. She's going to have to get glasses but she is super excited.

Mom: Here's THE pinata... exactly how Maria wanted it.

And lastly, I finished Christina's baptism book. I'm so happy she loves it. She's been reading it every night.

Maria has a really bad cold. I feel so bad for her. It seems like when she gets sick, she really gets sick. Yet, she never complains. She's such a trooper.

Wet Razzer

Eli started his wet razzing sound about a week ago. He's such a sweetheart.
He also especially enjoys doing it at 2 AM. Tender times.

Hey Girl series....

There is this series of "Hey girl" pictures on pinterest that crack me up. It's some guy who is supposedly "hot" and he says things like, "Hey girl.... I like the way you laminate things." Anyways. I'm going to start doing it with pics of the lil' man and man friend Joe.

Ready. Set. DO. January 2012 Art Farts

Christina has been studying the moon so we made some puffy shaving cream paint. The texture of the moon turned out perfect.

I love these happy little guys. And as a side note, I rarely to never will cut out things for the girls. They are super proficient with scissors and I was really pleased at their circles. They traced a cup around 2 times to make the body of the peacock and did their thang.

Maria's handwriting is the bomb. Spectacular!! She "disliked" doing hundreds charts, but honestly it's paid off.

Sometimes the girls come home with these cute glue and color projects, but in all honesty, they are capable of so much more. Maria drew the above heart, made lines with a ruler and then painted 2 patterns, one for background and one in the heart. Bless you pinterest.

Their art makes me so happy!!!

25 Page Paper Done Celebration!!

My cutie pie!! Joe has been gone for a week straight and the kids didn't see him at all while he worked on his paper. It was so sweet though, because the minute Elijah did get to see him, he was completely infatuated with daddy.
The girls, as kind and wonderful as they are, wanted to throw daddy a "Congrats! Your paper is done!" party. They planned everything! They made macaroni and cheese and barbeque wieners and a special dessert that they came up with completely on their own- whip cream, strawberries, chocolate chips, cream puffs and smashed peanut butter wafer bars... it was quite yummy! Although, I didn't eat much dinner as those foods have to be my very least favorites.
They wanted a special sign for him.

We were there too!

And of course daddy needed gifts... the girls wrapped up a turtle, a photo box and a couple other things. They just are thoughtful souls that love to party.
Congrats daddy! Almost done!!! By spring Joe will have his masters in Educational Higher Leadership and Gender,Race and Identity...?? Is it bad that as his wife I'm not quite sure what his degree will be in?

Bath time fun!

Elijah LOVES his bath. He is quite the splasher and will always soak the floor, whoever is standing nearby and get water all over the mirror. He is almost getting too tall for the bath! However, I was looking through Christina's and Maria's old weight/height records and Christina at 4 months was 16 lbs 11 oz and 26.5". WOAH! Maria was 16 lbs 9 oz and 20".
Ah, my beautiful children. I'm trying not to freak out about Elijah's weight. He is giving good #'s in the diaper department, so I need to get used to the fact that he's not a chubbo. He's just tall and skinny.
Ah, fear and stress.
At least one day I won't have to worry.
It'll be the day I'm dead and Christina sings "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" at her daddy's re-marriage reception.

Man Fairies

Maria: Is the tooth fairy a man or girl?

Me: I don't know. Maybe a man?

Maria: No. I don't think so. Men can't be fairies.

Me: Why? What about that guy in Tinkerbell?

Maria: He's a boy fairy. I've never seen a fairy with a mustache, so there are no man fairies.

_____________________________________________________

Christina: Let's play the guessing game.

Me: Ok. I'm thinking of a very handsome man that I love deeply.

Christina: EASY!!! Sergio Flores!!!!

(I was actually thinking of Joe, same difference though)

Elijah at 4 Months!

Height 26" 90%

Weight 14 lbs 6 oz. 50%

Head 41 1/2cm 40%

My beautiful sweetheart!! This little boy is all smiles and happiness!!
He loves to stick his legs straight up in the air and just hold them there.
He still uses a nipple latch to breastfeed, but there have been no growth problems. So as long as he's happy, we'll be using latchy...
He coo's, giggles, rolls over from front to back (when in the buff and with arm tucked... otherwise he can't do it) and loves to cover his face while he breastfeeds.
He loves toys and has great hand eye coordination. But most of all he loves standing.
He is in 9 month clothing.
He pees when he hears water.
He wakes up about every 3-4 hours at night to feed.
He's absolutely the most wonderful little baby on this earth! We are so blessed to call him our son.

The Tale of Edna and Edgar

* Disclaimer: This IS NOT a story about me and Jody. I know by saying that, you might think I'm lying.... but I try not to lie anymore. It was a bad habit as a teenager. So again this really isn't about me and Joe.

Edna and Edgar are two old farts who love each other. They drive each other nuts and sometimes the people around them because they bicker like old farts... and well, they also sometimes smell like old farts. Not really. But really.

So Edgar randomly invites some friends over to the house. He tells Edna and she gets upset. No one is beaten but a lover's spat ensues and Edgar decides to just call up the friends, uninvite them and just move on with the day. Edna wins.

Or does she?

The doorbell rings. The friends have come!! They didn't get the message that was left on their phone and Edgar and Edna quickly set the table. AWKWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, it's a lovely dinner, as usual because Edgar is a wonderful cook. Although, a random silent fart at the table is let loose and everyone is too polite to say anything... but it was completely rancid. Anyways, the friends have come with a special quote they want to leave Edgar and Edna... the quote talks about forgiveness and having a positive attitude. Edna starts to get emotional and let's face it, takes one in the rear. She tells the friends that her and Edgar had a lover's spat, called them and uninvited them. It was nothing personal, and she was so grateful for their company and message... The friends then informed her that their phone is BROKEN and they don't get messages on it!!!!!!!!!!!

:) Ah. They would have never known. FUN TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God is a God of miracles. A message was given, a lesson was learned, apologies and forgiveness were present... and it was just a good teaching experience to all involved. Arguments and friction are not worth it. Good attitudes and thankful hearts are a must. And in all things, have a sense of humor.

THANKS Jackie!!!!!!!!

So randomly the other day I was looking online to see if there were any strollers that fit my peg perego car seat for Eli that I got at a garage sale for $10.

I happened to run across this one, but $1,109.00 seemed a bit out my budget and I value my organs, although I'm absolutely not opposed to donating. Unlike some people. Cough. Joe. Cough.

Anyways... The very next morning I wake up and have a decision, should I go visit my grandma? It's a little bit of a drive, but in the end we decided to go because we hadn't seen her in awhile. While there Jackie, my wonderful wonderful cousin-in-law comes over. Jackie is Mexican and from LA. She is just sunshine. She is the easiest person to talk to, kind, loving, a wonderful mother... seriously just one of my favorite people in the family! Plus her boys are exceptional. They are just kind little souls. Anyways, she had gotten the above pricey stroller as a gift from her mother's boyfriend. She doesn't plan on having any more children and was going to sell it on craigslist... but when she saw our van, she rushed over and offered it to us! I was a little hesitant, I only say a little, because let's face it.... this is the Cadillac of all strollers.... because I knew she could make some money. But she is super thoughtful and insisted, and voila!! We have an awesome awesome awesome times infinity stroller.

It's all terrain. Easy to maneuver. Lightweight. Great handle height. And fabulous. Such a blessing in our lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Jackie times a million!!!!!!!!! I really see it as a miracle. Plus, my grandma stocked us up with cereal, soap, toilet paper and paper towels. WE ARE SO SPOILED!!!!!!!! It's not even funny. I have a testimony that paying tithing and giving back to the Lord the pittance He asks will facilitate the blessings the prophet Malachi declares, "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." (Chapter 3 verse 10)

I just hope one day I can be as generous as all the people around me.
