Lassen Volcanic National Park- Bumpass Hell Hike 3 Miles

Bumpass Hell!!!!!!!!
So, we started this beauty off at 4:30PM because this sign said it was a 30 minute hike down.
Yeah.
Not quite. I think it was a 30 minute hike to the info spot. We actually went all the way to the boiling pots. It was other worldly!!

The elevation starting point was 8,200 with a gain of 300 ft. Not too bad, but the cold and snow made it a little difficult.

THIS!!! It's pretty fascinating to be standing so close to death. It made me nervous but fortunately everyone was a good listener, Ella was in the pack, and it just ended up being a neat experience.

The mudpots can get as hot as 400 degrees!!

The world's largest fumarole!!!! On a non-active volcano!!!

It did smell like Hell.

I was a little worried as we raced getting back to the car before the sun went down. We were the last car in the parking lot. But Heavenly Father truly blessed us. It was a miracle, we made it in time and were safe and warm in the car!!

The view was spectacular. Words cannot do justice to the divinity of God's creation.
