Athens Mall and Getting Past Jet Lag

During the bus ride to the zoo, we noticed a large mall, so on our way back we decided to drop in. Holy Moly!! It was huge!! And lovely. There were 2 parts to the mall, the cheap part with Jumbo and the high end designer side. Needless to say we shopped in the cheap part, and used the bathrooms in the high end part.

The bathrooms were a whole different story!!! YOU DON'T FLUSH TOILET PAPER!!! EVER. This results in smelly bathrooms, they are clean!! They just smell. And you never feel quite clean for some odd reason.

We stopped to eat at a gyro shop. I can't adequately describe how good the food was. Nothing was processed. The olive oil was out of this world. The food alone would be worth the trip. No joke.

We ate gelato almost after every meal. Everything food wise was very affordable and way cheaper than America. Something a little different is smoking is very common in Greece. Every table has an ash tray. Not our favorite, but hey.... we're used to Casinos.

Jumbo ended up being our "thing" of the trip. It's a large store.... VERY LARGE... it seems to go on forever actually. It's a cross between Wal-Mart, Ikea, and the Dollar Store. Not the best quality, yet you want to buy everything perhaps because you can't seem to find your way out. We got everyone tons of junk, and 40% of everything broke. The girls had to go to the bathroom really bad, and it took them a full 10 minutes to walk through the entire store and different levels. It's a sea of products. Products you need, but not really.

We explored the different shops and they had amazing candy stores. Hans and Gretel is a chain there and is UNREAL. So colorful and fun!! We have nothing like it in Reno. The walls are just covered with candy. The store sells gelato that is piled in scoops, basically anything you could think of... it had.

After a long ride home, where many of our party fell asleep, we got lost on our walk home. We ended up walking along some train tracks that in hindsight might not have been so safe. We got to see some cute kittens and have a police officer blow a whistle at us. Finally, we safely made it back where we rested like the dead. Seriously. I've never seen the little kids sleep like that in my life.
