Thira is phenomenal. It is a city built into the cliff and the architecture is so very unique. As we parked, a concert was going on and you could feel the party start. I was SO DUMB and wore wedges. Dude. Greece is not the place to wear anything other than flat shoes!!! Lesson learned. I'm so grateful I didn't twist my ankle. We headed up the hill, not too bad, and entered quite the world of luxury. Everyone dresses up and silk dresses are the style. All the stores are high end and the restaurants are packed.
We walked around for a bit and found a restaurant our host had recommended. My mom would have loved the place. All our waiters and waitresses were so friendly and hospitable. We enjoyed some amazing food and appetizers and drinks! The meals were taking a long time, but the little kids did really well. We had to go for a few walks because sitting for hours in the same spot is not what we are used to. But it was lovely. The lights sparkled against the dark and the air was light. All these late nights call for gelato!!! The flavors and quality did not disappoint!!!
