Happy Thanksgiving!!!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving! The only thing missing was more family and friends!! I wish we weren't all so spread out!!
It was such a lovely afternoon spending time with each other and enjoying "lively" conversation...
"I used to watch you from the mirror so I could see both angles."
Thank you Theo Speedo.
How he met Aunt Valerie, "I found her look to be appealing."

We were so glad Aunt Helen could join us. Her and Yaya have been buddies for a long time!

FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made way too much. But honestly, the tiropita was bomb. I ate 4. We had plenty of leftovers and everyone went home with plates full!

Pinterest... bless you and curse you. But mostly bless you.

Thanks so much to Yaya Sofia, Yaya, and Papa for getting all the food so we could cook!!

Everyone's reaction to Allegiant can be pictured as above.

So glad Tobi lives close by!!

It was such a nice treat to have Valerie's daughter and grandson with us. They were great!

At one point we lost Yaya's cane. We offered a dollar to anyone who could find it and Eli found it within 20 seconds.

All the gang for Thanksgiving!! Thanks everyone for being such a blessing in our lives!!!

Maria's First Race!! The Turkey Trot

Thanksgiving morning was a rush of excitement!! Maria was not "training" for her 2 miles at all, but she never seems to tire when she runs.... so off we went! I was a little worried because Joe had a cold and wasn't getting out of bed.

But we made it on time!! There was even a balloon to welcome us!

Thanks Yaya and Papa! They were the ones who got Maria and Joe all set up for the race.

It was cold!!! Not freezing, but enough that you needed to put your hands in your pockets!!

Maria ran the ENTIRE 2 MILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joe could barely keep up with her as she often wanted to sprint. But she was kind and waited patiently for her daddy....

20 minutes later.... yes, that would be 10 minute miles for those tiny little legs!!

We are so proud of our sweet runners!!! Go Maria and Daddy!!!

Who is this woman?? I don't know, but I enjoy her eye contact with the camera.

Favorite pictures of the girls EVER!!! Loving these happy smiles!!

November 2013 Art Farts

Maria did a great job with her Thanksgiving tradition paper. I thought her handwriting was excellent for the space allotted.

The Native Chiefs were my favorite. So colorful and fun!

Dali Turkeys... based off his elephant work, except with turkeys! We also watched a short video about his artwork. I never knew he was the first to introduce something that can appear 2 ways in art. Like a bust that ends up looking like a servant.

Ninja Turkeys!!

"Corn" Dinsky!!! Based on the works of Kandinsky. I also tried this project with the Kinders that I volunteer with... not many could do it.

They loved this music turkey.

Maria made this at school. Way cute!

Always a good FHE!! I think we came up with 200+ things we're grateful for... and that's only a tid bit!

Eli will always do art with us. I'm surprised at how well he can cover a paper and with how many different colors he likes to use.
