Trump is not my president

A woman very angrily yelled at me and said, "Why on earth would you ever bring a child to this!!!"

Well, I'll tell you why.

I want my children to grow up and realize that their voices matter. No matter what age, what they have to say is important.

I want to teach my children that it is important to love and support others, especially those who have been trampled on.

I do not like bullies. I do not think it is OK for the KKK to still be around in 2017. I'm flabbergasted by it. But hate is what hate is. And to have a man at the head of this great nation, who will not denounce such evil is unfit to be our leader.

I know that unity is essential. That there are stories and lives out there that will touch my own. We are all connected but we live so disjointed, even sometimes within the same home. And that's not what life is about.

Some people just don't want harmony and are selfish. But not my kids.
My kids are going to learn better.

So glad I got to go with Rachael and catch up on life. Her friendship is such a blessing in my life and she is hilarious to boot.

Loved that Eli's kindergarten teacher was there, Mrs. Deason!!! Love you Liz!!!

Cross Country

Christina doesn't love running, but she is a champ and doing it any way!!!

I love that she is exercising and taking her health seriously.

She finished her run and ran the whole way. So very proud of her!!!

It rained heavily after her race so they had to cancel the rest of the meet.

Greek Fest 2017!!

Oh how we love Greek Fest!!! The food! The family!! The lovely time together!!

This year Yaya wanted to sit inside so we did that for a little while. Lots of old people.

We got to see family photos on the wall. That's my mom when she was a Sunday school teacher in the pink!!!

We headed outside and it was lovely!!! A light rain for 3 seconds and then fresh air!!

Nina even volunteered at the gyro booth with her dad!!!! Poor Jody was really sick. He was a trooper though.

I also had a fabulous time the night before volunteering at the chicken wing booth with my dad. OPA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Art Museum

It was a lovely day at the museum even though the burners needed Papa for their performance. Their dancing just wasn't up to par.

We made ribbon wands and mandala stones.

Hot August Nights

Getting back into the routine of school meant that we didn't get to see the cars like usual. We did see them, but on the Friday night cruise. I didn't get any good shots because apparently I do not know how to take pictures in the dark.

Highlight of the night: Eli talking to EVERY single cop he saw. Walking up and saying hi, how's it goin'? Then getting high fives. He's so awesome. He really just loves cops. The reason is beyond me.

And hooray!! Bigfoot!!!

As a side note, I do have to mention the following story because I want to remember how hard Christina laughed. I was driving us home, in our apparently "hot" minivan, when a guy shouts out at me, "Hey baby." and whistles. So basically I'm a bit taken aback because who hits on a woman driving a minivan filled with kids? Obviously someone drunk. But Christina thought it was the funniest thing ever. I hit the gas pedal and got us out of there!!

Holi Color Fest!!!!

We missed our Nina!!! She wasn't feeling too hot, so we threw a bag in honor of her. It was pretty sweltering outside!! We stayed in the shade mostly!! We gave lots of hugs and took pictures with people we met.

It was excellent!!!

Can we say hair perfection???? Maria's curls!!!!!!
