Spring Break- Library Sticker Time

3-D printing was a bust, but man did we have fun making mugs and stickers! It was so cool using their fun technology!! Plus Eli was reunited with a long lost friend from Elementary School.

 

Mad Science!!! AGAIN!

After a failed attempt to go to Verdi for the program, we ended up at the later showing at Sierra View. We made drums and again, enjoyed a wonderful and educational science program with Ladybug.

Our favorite was the chicken, tiger, and t-rex noises made by wet strings!

Library Performance: DoggPound

These guys did a fabulous job teaching all about hip hop and breaking.

We had a good time watching them and listening to fly music.

Man. I wish I had arm muscles!!!!

More Library Fun- Star Bottles

 

The Downtown library is always unique fun. However, we discovered a whole new floor! They remodeled the upstairs into a great space and put on this program. It was simple, yet fun!!

The kids made some things to add to the recycle collaborative artown. Helicopter landing pad (Eli), water fountain (Nina), Toystore (Me & Ella), and a park (Maria).

Library - Beginning Coding

 

The library offered a coding class for free. Christina is way into it. She loves minecraft and this class was right up her alley.

 

We love our library, the air conditioning, the books, the cool toys...

Bruka Theatre is always fun for the kids. They are full of energy and put on good performances.

We enjoyed it!

Summer Reading Program

 

Every single day my children read. I've made sure that our house is filled with the BEST of books. It's a passion. Reading is a gateway into infinite expanses of imagination.

 

This summer, the kids and I logged minutes with our local library.

 

Maria was ranked #1 and Nina #5 by the end of the program.

Eli and Ella were also ranked in the top 10 of their age group.

 

However, none of that mattered because in the end it was a raffle for the grand prizes.

The older girls felt pretty gipped.

 

But, randomly, Ella won a prize!!!
She was very kind to share. Eli and her have been enjoying this set a lot!!

While at the library Eli drew this fantastic person. Then we headed over to the park next door and made some friends within 20 seconds.

They were so friendly and the kids had a great time together.

I love it when you meet people you just click with.

 

Jump Rope Olympics

 

We visited the Northwest Library (one of our favorites!!) and participated in their jump rope Olympics. They taught us tricks and the girls enjoyed trying to double dutch. Mommy even flaunted her skills!

 

It was so much fun that we went and bought ropes after!!!

Man. I love the library.

It's funny how within 5 minutes, you make a choice and something so small turns into such a happy memory.

 

We had a great time playing some simple games. What made the difference?
Wonderful librarians who were soooooooo into it!!!

They were precise, efficient, and oh so fun!!

 

We had a great time cheering for each other and the other children.

 

But man, my kids are competitive.

 

And Maria.

When she wins, she can't contain her excitement.

 

Ella actually won the fishing game and got a gold!!! So grateful Nina helped her out!!

It was a fun afternoon. Plus the kids got free books for the reading program, really nice ones!! And we finished a couple reading program missions.

 

I do have to mention that there weren't a lot of kids there so they asked the adults to participate. I was the only one who would and of course I tried to make it so that I wouldn't win. And on accident, I did. So they made me take the gold medal away from a 5 and 3 year old.

 

It was a lower moment in my life.

 

However, I did manage to sneak behind the librarians back and give it to the little girl who just said, let's trade.

 

Maria's classroom is the same one that this Olympic gymnast, Jake Dalton, had!! She learned all about him at school and it was cool to see the library supporting him in his dreams. He ended up getting 6th on  the open floor routine in Rio.
