Halloween- Some Serious Business

I did a little digging and found 6 things for us to hit on Saturday.

#1 Free Reno Philharmonic Dia De Los Muertos Concert

Not loving, but loving, Ella's Michael Jackson posing of late.
The concert was FABULOUS!! Really kid interactive and the music was phenomenal.

My hot gay friend, Dustin, was one of the viola players!! I also knew a few others and the majority were actually Washoe Country School District teachers. We loooooooooooved the youth Mariachi program that they offered too!! Favorite song was Dance Macabre. Ushers were totally hyper, but it was definitely a great opportunity!

#2 Idlewild Park Halloween Carnival
1 piece of candy. Lots of lines. But we did get to see a really cool SWAT van and jump for 5 minutes in a bounce house.

#3 Meadowood Mall Halloween Fair
Time was wrong in the internet source so we missed it. However, I think it actually worked out nicely because we actually got to spin this wheel and basically did a scavenger hunt for all the free coupons they gave us.
Free Milkshake.
Free Game.
Free Cinnamon Roll.
Free candy at the Sweet Shop.

I was so proud of my daughters taking care of their siblings in, what I refer to as, the kill zone. I didn't even ask them, they just claimed one little and watched their back. It was so tender and I just pray that they will always love each other and take care of each other like that. They are so Christ like and good, I truly am so blessed with the most wonderful little angels for children. (Sidenote: As I'm typing 2 children crying because other siblings whacked them. Stern warning from Mommy. Crying stopped.)

#4 Great Western Marketplace Halloween Trick or Treat
WTH.
How do places like this even really exist?
It was really nice of them to offer trick or treating. And there is a $1 bookstore inside which I kinda love. It's alphabetized by authors so that makes life really easy if you are looking for something specific.

Just in case I ever really need a good wedding gift.

What on earth!?!?!?

#5 & #6
We totally conked out on. Birthday Cake from the NV historical society and Riverwalk Trick or Treat. We decided to watch a movie we got from the $1 book exchange and call it good.
Ella fell asleep with lollipop in hand!!

BYU Almuni Halloween Carnival

Papa treated us to the BYU alumni activity. It was pretty good, simple but good. They had a bounce house, games, and prizes.

But the best part was probably lunch at Fuddruckers after!
Thanks dad for a lovely afternoon!!

Reed/Weed High Safe Harbor Night

The ol' high school stomping grounds for Mommy. Go Reed Raiders!!
Man, the school is getting old!

It was a great night though. We had planned to go to a different event, but this was right by swimming and that worked out swimmingly for us!!
LAME!!! I know.
Sometimes my word choice!!!

This one is for you Ram. Tender teacher memories.

It wasn't too crowded which was nice and EVERYTHING was free. You didn't have to pay for tickets which is always awesome.

Nina got complimented on her costume quite a few times.
It was quote, "Very chic, mature, and educated."

Eli won a game of musical chairs.

They played their games and got tons of candy.
They each even won a cupcake from the cake walk.
My type of cakewalk!!!

Eli loved his chocolate eyeball.

Ella wanted to play this game but didn't understand about recycling so she just put the garbage in her bucket and didn't understand when they took it away from her. Poor little babe. It must be amazing to be a 2 year old.

The students made these great Disney posters all over the school.
My kids especially love Hercules.

A teenager thrilled that I was taking her picture.

By the end of the night they were just dumping loads into the kids bags. They were so excited!!! They each came home with bags FULL!!!

Aaaaaand Sydney!!! One of my mom's favorite 4th graders. Man. My mom loved Sydney. She was kind of an outcast and had a hard time making friends. But mommers took her under her wings and told Sydney how amazing she was. She constantly was building her up and doing everything she could to make her feel her true worth. She's now a sophomore and talked about how much mom was her favorite teacher to this day. I let her know my mom had passed and she was really sad.
But it was sure good to see her. Such happy memories from that 4th grade class. Nina even remembered Sydney teaching her how to draw a horse!!

This series of pictures is one that makes my heart happy. Ella upset that Eli was in her picture, and then blissfully happy when she got the picture all to herself.

It was another fun night!!!

SSHS Trick or Treat Night

The past few years, this event has been getting a little out of control. Just way too many people. And I think people realized that and didn't come this year, which made IT PERFECT!!!

It was soooooooooooo much fun!! Thanks Papa!!!

We played games and walked the halls for candy.
The high school kids were really nice!

THIS!! Eli did NOT like this girl and would NOT trick or treat with her. Nothing I could say would convince him. And the funny thing is she knew and was SNARLING at him. We walked by her at least 8 times. She was so grumpy and Eli was completely unfazed by her or the lack of candy he got from her.

So glad we saw our friends!!

The annual picture!!

The French club was the hit of the night.
I love that they were too chic to wear costumes, so French.
No line, they got to do this 10 times.
And each time it came over they were just so completely happy, like they were really fishing... even though you could see legs under the table! Ha!

Lacrosse was another favorite because the boys are just so phenomenal. They ALL cheer for the kids and help them get the ball in. Super energetic and wonderful!

Doctor scrubs were costume of the night, I kid you not!! I tried to get Eli to pose with his nurses but he was being shy.

Our other friends we bumped into!

This had a line of 3 kids so they couldn't do it over and over, but they still loved it.

ELI WON THE CAKE WALK!!! And this picture is hilarious to me, because usually it's Eli who is moving constantly, yet he is perfectly still in this photo as they call his number to tell him he's won! It was like he didn't believe them. He tried to pick out the grossest cake possible, but I gently steered him to the better looking cupcakes.

Cupcake break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No line at the end of the night for face painting.

They were so excited/thrilled to stand by the door and take a picture.
Really??

This T-Rex was walking the halls and terrifying Ella. It made her cry a few times, but she was OK as long as we were holding hands.

Such a great night!!!!!
