On the ATV I could feel my mom right by my side saying, "This is how you do Greece." Xi beach WAS THE BEST!!!! The girls were at home sick and we took a ferry ride over to Lixouri and got ATVS!! The guys there told us no one under 21 could drive. Of course it's Greece and we laughed. Saul hopped on and drove within 30 minutes. They gave us the ATV's with no gas, typical Greek business.
We headed over after my Yaiya's house to Xi beach on the north part of Lixouri. You look out and it's gorgeous. We got a set of chairs and I had the most amazing Souvlaki. It was insanely juicy. Eli and Saul bonded over a wild raft trip with my one of my relatives- Caradinatos. At one point the raft was completely vertical. We saw some guy painting himself with the clay and so the trend continued with Jody! Eventually we all gave it and it was so much fun!!
We relaxed and watched the sea swallows swooping in and out of the holes. Eli figured out you could chip at the rock and wet it and that's what made the clay. I went topless at this beach while the boys were on their boat ride. It's liberating to know your body is beautiful. I ended up getting our wallet stolen- supposedly the bar tender just wanted to keep it safe but I had a bad feeling about them.
We took the ATVS back to the Air BNB and got ready for dinner that night. Everyone took turns driving them and loved them, but especially Saul. I think he loved Argostoli and being able to drive into town.
Our last meal in Cephalonia was at the most beautiful restaurant with a mother tree- The Olive Grove. Unfortunately there were hornets so we had to get smoke and then everyone was smoked out. But the food was absolute perfection. The setting was very typical beautiful Island, yet country, dining. The service wasn't overly friendly, they seemed stress. We had a great time together though and everyone zoomed off on the ATV's after.
