June 4- Teachers Vs. Students Kickball

At one point one of the more athletic students, Alex's nephew, was like wait you guys they're good. I got 2 runs and a few kids out but for the life of me I can't catch a ball. It was super hot and the best way to end our Friday. We should have been doing this monthly!!! I will say the last week of school has me feeling exhausted. A deep exhaustion. I'm worried about moving classrooms and getting set up. I'm not really worried about co-workers, but it's just a change in general so I'm nervous.

I love where I work

Today the cops were out. We have hoarders in the neighborhood and the cops do their best to make sure we don't have garbage piles outside the school.

I have fond memories of the recess time my class was just parked on the picnic table watching and me explaining why we clean our room so we don't end up like adults who hoard.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's was very simple this year. A nice dinner with the kiddos at Grateful Gardens... birthday fudge at Scheel's.

The real happenings were at school. I got 11 boxes of chocolate, multiple flowers, cards...

We had a pizza party, Papa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saved Marie's party because they didn't have enough food. It was awesome!!

Moon Maze- 1st Cardboard Carnival a Success!

Tonight was soul happiness. I love kids.

Sure, I have to deal with 1st graders who say the f word on a weekly basis... but they are hoodtastic and I love them more than words could say.

The kids wanted a maze and I like integrating... so a moon maze it was!!

Did I end up giving 60 rides in a cardboard spaceship?? Yes. Yes I did.
And I'm completely ready to pass out after editing photos and sending them to print.

Not to mention a full day of teaching and 26 parent-teacher conferences in the book.

The kiddos worked so hard. As we were listening to kidzbop Cardi B... I truly was just so happy to be there with them at that moment.

26 was too many, but 16 is perfect.
Especially the 16 little badasses I have.

And of course, Christina and Maria's help was very much appreciated. They were wonderful to volunteer and everyone was elated with all they did.

I'm ready for bed too Nina.
