I voiced my concerns that the 4th of July has become a little traumatic for me and Jody really stepped up his game and made the day memorable. He came up with the idea of having an outdoor movie night and spent hours figuring out how to rig up a projector that we watched Godzilla on for 20 minutes.
Backing up a little, we enjoyed a bbq with great cheeseburgers and amazing food. He helped me shop and prep and it was magical to be one in purpose to make a night our family could remember. It was also Manny's birthday weekend so we celebrated him and the wonderful soul he is!!
We played cornhole, enjoyed the backyard with s'mores, enjoyed illegal fireworks with neighbors and had everyone in our front yard to watch! It really was so pleasant and fun!! There were probably about 20 of us just enjoying summer and the birth of our nation. (Jody insisted on getting a flag.... it was weird)
Overall I couldn't have asked for a better holiday and may it be the start of new traditions and time together on this special day.
