Jan. 19- MLK Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. First event, Jody getting honored with the Deans at the UNR game, that they won. We met a woman with furry pink shoes who lives in a castle.

2nd event, Jody was the keynote speaker for a city of Reno interfaith event. He did a great job and the LDS people brought lots of cookies. We ate together afterwards with all the kiddos. Jody doesn't really like MLK and to be honest I have issues with him too but it was nice to see him in his element. We also enjoyed all the different prayers/messages given by other religious leaders in the community.

3rd- GSR NNBCAS MLK dinner. There was an auction and we ate the gross food, not much of it, and left. Think the event is getting old. It was loud and uncomfortable. But I really loved getting Oreo cheesecake and eating it in the lounge area. We reminisced how far we've come. I will say walking in those heels was quite the workout too.

Jan. 12- Unstable

New Year's Goal. To enjoy hikes. To chill out and enjoy being outside.
Pictures never tell the whole story.

Jan. 10- LA Fires

Trump was elected and LA is burning down. Despite being warned to evacuate, our cousins toughed it out and fortunately their house was safe. It was an epic fire and the most devastating in LA history. In 1 moment everything can be gone and burned down. Kind of like our choices.

But God always helps to rebuild and keep safe.

Dec. 31- New Year's Eve

Papa took Eli and Ella to coconut bowl all day!! Then they went to Fallon. We met them there and missed the fireworks, so we just drove back for appetizers. We were tempted to do $30 per person to see bull riding, but we didn't. We fell asleep by 10.

Dec. 25- Christmas At Papa's

Holy Moly!! What a Christmas!!! WE ARE SO BLESSED!!! This year Papa went all out and got us KAYAKS!!! Manny used his work points and together they got us something that we will definitely be using to have such a great time!!! I had COVID or some sort of crazy disease and was coughing up my lungs. Fortunately, no one else got it!!!

Dec. 25- Christmas Morning

We woke up early! Still dark outside as usual and enjoyed the magic of gift giving. Everyone is always so thoughtful. I have no clue how the big girls got so big and feel like they need to buy everyone gifts. We were all thoroughly spoiled. We are so blessed to have each other. It truly was such a nice Christmas to be together.
