First hike of the season, and boy was it gorgeous out!!
Heavenly Father loves us.
I'm always amazed at the miracles that surround us. It was a very muddy drive to get to the base of the hike and at one point I could feel the car getting stuck, however we were able to back up safely.... where I stopped and parked. When I got out I saw this huge rock that I hadn't ran over and popped the tire with. Such a blessing. I must have come within 1/2 an inch.
The weather was absolutely perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze. Needless to say, Eli was in his glory. He was off running in no time flat. The amount of energy he has is staggering. Also, Ella was adamant about walking and did a great job. There is nothing like hearing a little voice say, "I need your hand to steady me."
How does a 3 year old know steady me?
And if only she knew how much her little hand steadies my soul.
The girls were feeling the burn of the first hike of season!
I think we only did about 4 miles total.
ELI = POWER HIKER!!!!!!!!!!!!
It would have been a lot easier, but the mud caught up to us. And then of course, everyone wanted to play in it.
Did I mention I had just washed my car too?
Fun times.
Hooray for washing machines!!! The shoes came out spotless!!
Eli prepared a backpack and took time to write down things he really loved.

The kids ended up building a dam in the stream/mud for about 25 minutes. Ella threw rocks.
They were completely happy.
I was happy watching them.
Creative little souls.
Good thing for showers!!
