Sledding on a church canceled Sunday

We woke up to a horrible, pounding snowstorm. Church was canceled. 4 hours later the roads were clear and melted. It was so weird. Elijah, Ella, and I headed to go on a snow adventure. Unfortunately chickadee meadows was closed, Mt. Rose highway was pretty gnarly and it had started snowing again by the time we were up. The kids I could tell were a little freaked out by the weather. I was not due to the fact that people were actually driving slow and carefully. We ended up stopping at Callahan Park and I'm just grateful we weren't lost in the 6 ft. snow. It was hard to walk in, but we trudged on and made it to the park. It was so peaceful. We fed some birds that never came and enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Peppermill. We are really working on speaking kindly to one another, being patient, and thinking before we talk. It was a great day together!!

Wim Hof On

I did a 20 mile run on a treadmill and my foot was killing me. I plunged and all pain was basically gone. I swear by this Norwegian prophet hoopla. I used to hate the cold and now it is a part of my being and healing.

1st swim meet of the sophmore year season!

Maria is basically Miss SSHS swim team queen. Everyone was cheering for her, she was off scampering with short children that had abs, and thriving- not surviving- during the 500 free. The meet was long, but she cheered on her friends and enjoyed some pho with dad afterwards.

IHOP Free Pancake Day

We randomly had a snow day/digital day where we could go and enjoy free pancakes! Maria let us know and we got to meet Saul's parents. It wasn't planned and it was quite awkward. The pancakes were yummy and surprisingly the wait wasn't too long.

Oh Papa, how you make us laugh

Papa always has a wild story that amazes and entertains us.
