May 17- Reno Revel
The expo was combined with a low rider show which was a plus. It was a little rushed, but we got our bibs. The morning of was FREEZING 35. AND WINDY. And we were bused EARLY and forced to huddle by a Sani-hut. It wasn't the best start to a race ( up at 3:30 to race by 6:00) but we did it. Some lady fell 2 times by me which threw me off. Running downhill at a 7:54 (and that was holding back) was another weird thing. I was happy with my results though even with all that weird stuff, 7th overall for my age group and a pace of 8:39.
Jody did AMAZING! I was super proud of him. He finished right before Rachel and ran the WHOLE TIME!! That's huge!!!
May 12- Eli's Pinning
Eli loves CAP!!!!! He took the Wright's brothers test 25 times. I'm kinda amazed at that because he never gave up. I'm so glad he persevered!!! He's a one of a kind type of kid, motivated and ambitious!! It also was great to have Theo Angelo come and pin him as a high ranking general.
May 10- Mother's Day
I am so blessed. I look at my kids and just want to cry tears of joy because I am so proud and amazed at who they are. They spoiled me ROTTEN. I loooooooove my breakfast more than words could ever day. It's the best meal of the year!!!! My cards and gifts were so special. I truly am the luckiest mother of all times.
April 28- Thea Maria Died
I never knew Thea Maria taught at Glen Duncan. Jody took the kids to the funeral.... a little too early. But everyone was lovely and supportive. Aunt Alex tried to carry the coffin. The priest coughed a lot with the incense. It was long.
Thea Maria was a vibe though. In the olden days she'd throw wild Greek parties at her house and I loved to go there and enjoy all the food. I named a daughter after her. In Greek culture you name using family names.
April 28- The Break Up and Nina's famous
The break up with Saul was really sad. There were no hard feelings or anger. It really was just sad. We'll always love Saul.
In the mean time Christina is finding solace in friends and finding herself and who she is. And she was photographed by a famous Reno guy and made it to the insta page.
April 27- Eugene Marathon #8 in the Books
I had the opportunity to fly down to Portland with Alex and then drive to Eugene. An Asian lady at the counter was yelling at the people in front of us, but she was nice to us. We hit the Expo which was lame, the same as last year. We ate delicious Thai food the night before and did a small 3 mile shake out run. The weather for the race was lovely, it did get pretty hot towards the end. I did Maurten's every 4 miles and put the knee brace on at 18. I was able to run the whole time. I was 133 in my division for 40-44F and my time was 4:37:04 with a pace of 10:34.
We enjoyed time with Corey and Bill after the race and some shopping at Powell's bookstore downtown. There was a lot of traffic surprisingly. Our flight was late on the way back and we were tired. But we were running 2 days later, so all is well.
