My last mountain view and Greek yogurt breakfast!!! I was so sad, but happy to go see Yaiya's island. We drove down to Vasiliki to catch the ferry with plenty of time. We toured a beautiful olive oil factory and learned that in Greece they process the olive with the pit and even stray leaves to make the oil. We learned acidity is better quality and I now need to figure out how to ship Greek Olive Oil to the US. We even got to rent an electric scooter to explore for 40 minutes. I rode on the back while Eli drove for about 5 minutes, it was an adventure. Everyone waited patiently for the ferry and then of course chaos because we didn't know that online tickets still needed a paper ticket from the office. Jody was great and did that while we wondered if we'd get on the ferry. If we visit Vasiliki again, next time we need to wind surf with the Australians who spend their summers there!!
The ferry ride was a little choppy and we all kind of felt it, surprisingly. It was a familiar drive from Fiskardo!! And I was reminded why I don't stay up north!! We drove VERY close to our old air BNB to get to our new one in Metaxaca. It was definitely not like the pictures and when we arrived, the air wasn't working in the living room and Jody and mine's room. FRUSTRATING. VERY FRUSTRATING. The liaison on air bnb was very nice but I wasn't going to go batteries to try to fix things. It was annoying. Fortunately, they fixed the air the next day. The decor was a bit much and I didn't really enjoy the place, but we had plenty of room and the bathroom was probably one of the best on the trip. At least we didn't hit our heads on anything. Jody and I were very familiar with the streets, it was like being home. We hit an Italian restaurant together as a date (more wasps... boo) and got the kids some take out. I also didn't eat GALAKTOBOURICO!!!! I was on such a lemon meringue pie kick!!! IT WAS CRAZY DELICIOUS!!
